Note to all: digital cameras make for sucky scanners. Unfortunately, both my scanner and my beloved
Photoshop are in the States, and so I can just update like this. When I get back, I'll probably go on a Photoshopping
binge before knuckling down and doing my senior project...
So, this is Ariella, human monk, ex-werelioness. She was bitten when she was twenty-six years old,
on an excursion from her monastary. While she managed to maintain a fairly normal life for several years, eventually
the Beast within her became too strong. Starting at the age of twenty-eight, she ran off into the wild, utterly losing
her human self. She was captured and forcefully cured of her Curse by her monastary when she was thirty-six, and then,
over the next two years, tamed and taught how to once again be human.
This stoy stems from my need to roleplay a character who does not speak or communicate very well.
I'm still really rough in my understandng and speaking of German, and so I needed a character who, like I, could not communicate
well. It wouldn't do to just say she doesn't speak the common language: many of the other characters in the group have
Tongues. So I needed something that kept her from being able to communicate verbally, at all. I'm really
pleased with her, though unfortunately I've not yet been able to play her.
One of the important things that I tried to capture in this picture is that, like any monk, she is lithe
and taut. A monk's body allows for infinite poses and drawings, given its incredible strength and flexibility.
On the other side, like any 38-year-old woman, she also is losing elasticity in the skin of her breasts and face. It's
really fun trying to portray both of these aspects: the young and the old
